Nigerian rapper cum fashion designer Yetunde Alabi better known as Sasha P
says she has ended her one-year deal with telecom company Samsung
Mobile as initially agreed but wasn’t dropped contrary to what is being
reported in some quarters.
This morning, several online blogs began reporting that the Storm 360
recording artiste has been ‘dropped from as an ambassador’ from Samsung
Mobile. But the rapper says she has no idea where the news came from
as neither her management nor Samsung provided that information.
‘I had a one year contract with
Samsung which we concluded last year according to the terms of our
contract, while we continue to have a good working relationship I will
not be the female mobile ambassador this year‘, Sasha told NET via email today.
Storm 360 director Tola Odunsi also buttressed Sasha’s statement ‘Sasha’s
contract with Samsung expired last year, she has completed her term as
the Female face of Samsung mobile as agreed (initially) , She still
maintains a good relationship with Samsung mobile‘.
In 2011, Sasha and R&B singer Banky W inked
an endorsement deal with Samsung and went on to become ambassadors of
the brand. The deal included recording a theme song, popping up on
campaign ads and appearing at Samsung Mobile functions.
Banky W’s contract has also expired but
NET has gathered reliably that he’s returning for his second year as a
Samsung ambassador.
Samsung has already launched a promo campaign for an upcoming product ‘Samsung Galaxy Grand‘ with Banky as the face. But Banky’s team did not immediately respond to our enquiries.
